According to the CDC, 1/3 of U.S. women are the victims of domestic violence in their lifetimes. Given the scope of the problem, mediators should understand the dynamics of abuse in intimate relationships as well as the warning signals for repeat and escalating violence. This program focuses on understanding domestic violence, risk assessment, and the need for interventions to promote safety Specifically, mediators will learn about screening tools, what to be looking for during the mediation session, and how to make referrals for domestic violence services.
