Mediators As Persuaders: A Tibetan Perspective – November 5th, 2019, 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Mediators As Persuaders: A Tibetan Perspective – November 5th, 2019, 7:00 – 9:00 pm

On behalf ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, the Lodestar Dispute Resolution Center, the Dispute Resolution Student Association, and the Zen Law Students Association, we welcome the Venerable Gelong Kalsang Rinpoche, Tibetan Lama and international mediator. Rinpoche’s return visit to the law school will focus upon contemplative perspectives on the art of persuasion in law and mediation, the ability to cultivate neutrality and impartiality without disengaging human instincts of empathy and compassion, achieving settlement without effort, and how teaching people to listen to themselves can empower parties to solve their own problems.

This program will be presented in an interview format, and the dispute resolution community is invited to engage in discussions of mediation, the importance of freedom of religion, and any other relevant topics that those interested in dispute resolution will find interesting.
